After a whirlwind of travel in January, I’ve promised myself no more spending for a little while, but the companion sale currently running with Lufthansa and SWISS is mighty tempting! So much so, I wanted to make sure you are all aware of it, as it isn’t often that these prices in First come up with a UK departure.
Offer: Up to 50% off First class, 45% off Business and 50% off Premium Economy for companions travelling together (i.e. must book at least 2 tickets together on same route). First fares range from £1,500pp to multiple cities, up to £3,500pp for Australia – some fantastic prices.
Availability: Select travel dates to destinations in Asia, Africa, South America, Middle East and Australia through to 10.12.2020 (for China 01.02.2020-31.08.2020). Valid for travel in groups between 2 and 6 adults. Originate from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol, Edinburgh.

You can book direct with Lufthansa or SWISS. The Lufthansa offer page for First is here and Business here. However, I find the SWISS pages (First here, Business here) easier to use, because you can select each destination and see which dates have the offer available (from London only). But the Lufthansa page has more destinations available. If in doubt, use Google flights to find dates that work!
Maximum Extravagance, Minimum Cost
Lots of destinations are available but some prices are better than others. My top picks (from London) in First Class are:
If you can afford the extra, travelling in First and making sure you have a long transfer in Frankfurt or Zurich will get you the full experience of either SWISS amazing First lounge with bedrooms (Zurich) or Lufthansa’s dedicated First Class Terminal (Frankfurt) and a Limousine to the plane!
I think between the two I’d go for Lufthansa as the cabins look a bit more swish, but you could mix up a route with one airline outbound and the other back!
Travelling in Business can save you a fair amount compared to First and there are more destinations available. My top picks are:
