Ahead of Black Friday, there haven’t been many First Class fares at all to report on, but today’s is pretty good! These are promotional First Class fares across the Lufthansa Group, booked direct with Swiss. The ones worth your attention are flying Swiss and Lufthansa to US East Coast destinations and also a pretty good fare for Mexico City. My top pick is Stockholm to Miami for £1,889/€2,211pp.
What: Travelling from Stockholm Arlanda ARN to North America in First Class with the long-haul segment on Swiss and Lufthansa. My top picks are Miami £1,889/€2,211pp, Boston £1,889/€2,211pp, Chicago £1,907/ €2,307pp and Mexico City £2,481/€ 2,905pp.
Offer: The fare rules say 2 adults must be travelling together, but it looks like the fare may also work if travelling solo, so give it a try! The fares are to North America across the Lufthansa Group (Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian) and also United, Air Canada and Brussels Airlines. The best deals are where the long haul segment is travelling First in Swiss or Lufthansa.
Availability: Valid for travel between 22 Nov ’19 and 30 Sep ’20. Minimum stay 6 days and maximum stay 3 months. No stopovers allowed, but up to 5 transfers and open jaws permitted.
Book By: 2 Dec ’19.
Book direct on Swiss Airlines. You may need to be booking for 2 Adults to get the fare, but give it a go. On the final selection box, “Airline”, make sure that “Lufthansa Group” is selected. To get the best rate, pay in the local currency (Swedish Krona) and use a credit card with a 0% foreign transaction fee, for example, I personally use the Halifax Clarity Mastercard.
You will need to position yourself in Stockholm first. I stayed in Stockholm for my First Class itinerary in October and thoroughly recommend an overnight stopover to explore this wonderful city! British Airways flights from London Heathrow are as little as £66 return.
Maximum Extravagance, Minimum Cost
I’ve picked my top deals from the offer below, there is good availability on dates for all of these.
Mix up airlines
For a wider experience, why not mix up the airlines you fly outbound versus inbound? You can then compare SWISS and Lufthansa First Class! For example, the Chicago itinerary above does this.
Give yourself enough time on the ground
As I mentioned in my post on the ultimate First Class, the ground experience from SWISS (Zurich) and Frankfurt (Lufthansa) is up there amongst the best First Class experiences in the world. So give yourself a lengthy connection to max out on these!
